Searching for items
As soon as you launch 1Password, you can press Ctrl+F to invoke the search feature. The insertion point will be in the search field, so you can just start typing. Filtering is nearly instantaneous, so the selected list narrows, as you type, to show only matching items.
Persistence
If the search feature was active when you last closed 1Password, it will be active when you relaunch 1Password, making it even more convenient to use the search feature immediately.
Clicking the Close button next to the search field makes a little more space available for viewing your listed items. If you press Ctrl+F (or click the Find tool) again within the current session, 1Password restores the status of the Include notes fields and passwords option and the contents of the search field as they were when you clicked the Close button.
Notes:
-
The search feature includes all item types, but it currently searches only the items in the selected folder or vault.
To search all items, choose the All folder before searching.
-
It’s a lot faster to search just Title and Location fields, so the ability to search Notes fields and passwords is optional.
-
The Include notes fields and passwords option currently is disabled when you launch 1Password, regardless of its previous setting.
-
Pressing Ctrl+F currently does not toggle display of the search feature.
