1Password button missing from browser toolbar
Even though 1Password enables the browser extensions for Internet Explorer (32-bit) and Firefox (32-bit) automatically, during installation, you may have to configure the browser’s toolbar to make the 1Password button visible.
Internet Explorer (32-bit)
-
Right-click on the browser toolbar, and make sure the Command Bar option is enabled (checked), as shown below.
-
Right-click on the Command Bar (the icons at the right end of the toolbar), and choose Customize > Add or Remove Commands.

-
In the Customize Toolbar dialog box, select 1Password in the “Available toolbar buttons” list, on the left, and click the Add button.
-
In the “Current toolbar buttons” list, select 1Password, and click the Move Up button until 1Password is at the top of the list.

-
When you’re finished, close the dialog box.
Note: 64-bit Internet Explorer cannot use the 1Password extension, so the 1Password item will not appear in the Customize Toolbar dialog box.
Firefox (32-bit)
-
Right-click on the browser toolbar. From the menu that appears, choose Customize.
In the Customize Toolbar dialog box, find the 1Password button, and drag it up onto the browser toolbar. A vertical “insertion bar” shows where it will be dropped when you release the mouse button.

-
When you’re finished, close the dialog box.
Notes:
-
Enabling the 1Password extension for Firefox enables it for all your Firefox profiles. If you create a new Firefox profile after enabling the 1Password extension, though, the new Firefox profile will not have the 1Password extension. In 1Password preferences, just disable the 1Password extension for Firefox, and click the OK button; then click the Preferences tool again, and re-enable the extension for Firefox.
If that doesn’t solve the problem, click the Profiles button next to Firefox on the Browsers tab of 1Password preferences. If you see your Firefox profile listed, make sure there’s a checkmark next to it. If you don’t, click the Add button below the list, and locate the directory that contains your Firefox profile.
If you don’t know your Firefox profile name, you may be able to determine it by checking the “properties” of the shortcut you use to launch Firefox. If the command line includes
-P some-value , then some-value is the name of your profile. -
64-bit Firefox cannot use the 1Password extension, so the 1Password item will not appear in the Customize Toolbar dialog box.
-
1Password for Windows is not compatible with Firefox Portable.
Chrome
In Chrome, the 1Password button is actually a “key” icon instead of “1P”. It should appear next to the “wrench” icon in the Chrome tool bar.
