Locating your 1Password data

The easiest way to see where 1Password keeps your data is to check the Keychain field on the General tab of 1Password preferences. If you need to find it without unlocking it first, you can use File > Open 1Password Data Folder ... from the menubar.

If you use Dropbox to sync your 1Password data with 1Password on other computers and devices, the path will look something like this:

• Windows XP

  C:\Documents and Settings\your-name\My Documents\My Dropbox\…\1Password.agilekeychain

• Windows Vista, Windows 7

  C:\Users\your-name\Documents\My Dropbox\…\1Password.agilekeychain

The ellipses (”…”) represent any subfolders you may have created for the keychain.

If you don’t use Dropbox, though, 1Password normally creates your keychain here:

• Windows XP

  C:\Documents and Settings\your-name\My Documents\1Password\1Password.agilekeychain

• Windows Vista, Windows 7

  C:\Users\your-name\Documents\1Password\1Password.agilekeychain
