Exporting data

To export Logins and other items formatted as 1Password Interchange Format (1PIF) or to export Logins formatted as delimited text, just choose File > Export, select the appropriate format, select what to export, and follow the instructions.

1Password Interchange Format

The best way by far to share data between 1Password for Windows and 1Password for Mac is to use Dropbox (as described here, here, and here) to keep them in sync. That way, your 1Password data is up to date and available on your PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Android device, no matter where you modify it.

If you just need to move your 1Password data once from Windows to the Mac for some reason, though, you can export it from 1Password for Windows, select 1Password Interchange Format, and import the resulting .1pif file into 1Password for Mac.

Note that the data.1pif file is not encrypted.

Delimited text

1Password for Windows includes the ability to export Login items to delimited-text files that use commas or tabs to separate fields.
